Dr. Bayarmaa Dalkhjav received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire. Her research focuses on macroeconomics, international economics, and health economics, addressing key questions such as: What are the macroeconomic consequences of market failure? How does international trade affect pollution through the adoption of new technologies? Does the lack of the rule of law contribute to business cycles at the aggregate level?
Her work explores the macroeconomic effects of asymmetric information about workers’ productivity and examines the external impacts of changes in trade costs on pollution through the innovation decisions of incumbent and new exporters. Recently, she has been investigating the implications of corruption on business cycle fluctuations in resource-rich countries.
